GTX 1080 Ti @ 1918×1008, RenderVKGpuTimers (see #98): the sel+hud GPU timer reads a constant 3.0–3.4 ms/frame, with nothing selected and no HUD-heavy content known. That's too much for an overlay.

  • Break the timer down (selection outline, HUD attachments, UI composite?) and find the full-screen or per-object work that runs regardless.
  • Likely cheap to fix, and it helps every GPU.
