On first launch, show a small floater asking which viewer the user is coming from, with buttons: Firestorm, Alchemy, Black Dragon, Official Second Life viewer, Other / new to SL.

Choosing one applies a preset of defaults close to that viewer so the transition feels familiar:

controls/key bindings and camera behaviour (e.g. FS-style camera, chat-bar focus, movement keys, mouselook/sensitivity defaults),
chat/IM window layout defaults and name display,
UI toggles that differ notably (toolbars, nearby chat behaviour, etc.).

Requirements:

Presets are data files (one per viewer), easy to tweak; applying one is reversible (Preferences > reset / re-run the chooser from a menu item).
Offer the importer (chat logs / settings) from this floater when that viewer's data is found on disk.
Shown once (per install), skippable; remembered choice stored in a setting.
