The Preferences floater has grown by accretion from LL, Alchemy and our own additions (graphics advanced, AO, DoF, camera pack, Lightbox-adjacent toggles...). Settings are hard to find.

Audit every tab and regroup them by what users are trying to do, rather than by where the code happened to land.
Add a search box that filters or highlights the matching controls across all tabs, including labels, tooltips and the underlying setting names. Jumping to a result should switch tabs and flash the control.
Compare with how Firestorm (which has preference search) and Black Dragon organize theirs.
Consider linking advanced setting names (Debug Settings) from the search results for power users.
Related: the viewer-migration / first-run tickets, since a clearer layout helps people coming from other viewers.
