Request
Add a user-visible preference (Preferences > Advanced) to turn GPU acceleration in the web/media browser plugin (CEF,
dullahan_host) on or off. Default stays on on every platform. Why
#1063: a GPU page fault in Chromium's GPU process inside our media plugin led to a full GPU reset on Linux (amdgpu mode1 reset, VRAM lost), which took the viewer's Vulkan device with it. One confined report, so no default change, but users who hit this (or similar driver trouble with web content/MoAP) need a switch.
Notes
media_plugin_cef.cpphandles agpu_disabledmessage (mDisableGPU->settings.disable_gpu), but nothing in the viewer sends it today.BrowserHardwareAcceleration, Boolean, default true); sendgpu_disabledto each CEF plugin instance before init (llviewermedia / LLPluginClassMedia, where the other browser options like cookies/javascript are sent).
