Delete branch "%!s()"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Windows users currently get a zip they have to extract themselves: no Start menu entry, no uninstaller, and they have to find the folder again for every update.
Proposal
Build an NSIS installer in the Windows cross-build (
makensisruns natively on Linux, so it fits the clang-cl/xwin pipeline; the inherited Alchemy Inno Setup script needs Windows or Wine).%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Slipstream, and the directory can be changed.%APPDATA%\SlipstreamViewer(settings, chat logs) unless the user ticks "also remove my settings and chat logs".secondlife:///x-grid-location-info://links. Off by default, so it doesn't take the handler away from another viewer.Slipstream_<ver>_Setup.exeis published in addition to_win64.zip, because the website's download buttons HEAD-check the zip.CI
scripts/wincross/build.shbuilds the installer whenmakensisis available and skips it with a notice otherwise. The release job publishes the exe when it exists. applejack needsapt install nsis.The installer is unsigned, like the zip (SmartScreen: More info > Run anyway). Code signing would be a separate ticket.
Done: CI builds an NSIS Setup.exe next to the zip, and every release since beta.8 ships Slipstream_*_Setup.exe.
