We couldn't reproduce this on Linux: Alt-zoom centres on wherever you click. It may be Windows-specific (window/DPI scaling, mouse capture, or how modifier keys and clicks are reported). We're reviewing the Windows-specific paths and will ship a best-effort fix in a beta; please retest then and tell us if it's still off.
[viewer] Alt-Zoom (Object View) not behaving as expectedto Alt-zoom (object view) focuses toward the bottom-left of the click when UI size isn't 100% (UI-scaled vs raw coordinates)Reproduced. Cause found: it's the UI size setting, not Windows.
This reporter has
UIScaleFactor = 1.225(UI size about 122%). With any UI size other than 100%, Alt-zoom / object view focuses on a point toward the bottom-left of where you click, and the further you click from that corner, the bigger the miss. Somewhere in the Alt-zoom pick path, the click position is being used in UI-scaled coordinates (window pixels ÷ UI size) where raw window pixels are needed, which pulls every click toward the origin. The project owner reproduced it by changing UI size; at 100% it works correctly.A fix is in progress: tracing the pick → ray → focus path, our Vulkan pick replacements included, for the scaled/raw mix-up. Normal click-selection and hover tips are being checked for the same problem.
Workaround until the fix ships: set UI size to 100% (Preferences > General > UI Size).
