Environment
Slipstream Release 1.0.1.1
Description
Firestorm's preferences include a lot of options on the default properties of new prims being rezzed. It includes the default size of the rezzed prim, status of the prim such as Phantom or Physical, options on the texture of the created prim, and even an option to embed an item within every created prim.
Additionally, it also includes the option to set a custom script to be used when creating a new script, both from the inventory and inside an object's contents, which is useful if you want a cleaner default script that doesn't llSay "Hello, Avatar!" every time it's created.
Included is a picture of the options present in the Build 1 tab of Firestorm preferences. In it, the default texture of each created prim is set to be the default blank texture, rather than the usual plywood default texture, and a script named "EmptyScript" is set as the default script when creating a new script.
Testing on Beta 1.1.0.5, the ported features seem to work well. All the features I used while on Firestorm are in already, so I have no complaints.
If parity with Firestorm's options is desired, however, it would be also necessary to port the ability to choose the default collision material (Wood, Stone, Metal, Glass, etc) as well, and also the ability to choose the default tint, alpha, glow, Full Bright status, and shininess intensity (Low/Medium/High, related to Blinn-Phong shininess, may be considered outdated).
Shipped in 1.1.0 Beta 5: Preferences > Building defaults for new prims and scripts. Closing; please reopen if anything regressed.
