Slipstream Beta 1.1.0.4 (64bit) (SSE4_2)
Microsoft Windows 11 64-bit (Build 22621.4317)

Description

On Windows, the Ctrl+keyboard shortcut doesn't work in certain non-English keyboard layouts that puts the key in a different spot. Not confirmed if any other keyboard shortcut is affected by it, that's the only one that I've had issues with so far.

The move to SDL3 is suspected to have caused this behavior.

Reproduction steps

Use the same keyboard shortcut you'd use for a quick Snapshot to Disk on Firestorm or Alchemy, while using some keyboard layout that moves the ` key to a different spot.

A fix for this is in 1.1.0 Beta 7: on layouts where the key left of 1 doesn't produce a usable character (dead keys like ^, or characters like ²), the shortcut now uses the physical key position. Could you test Ctrl+` (the key left of 1) on Beta 7 and tell us which keyboard layout you use? Downloads: https://slipstreamviewer.org

Tested on Beta 1.1.0.8. In my keyboard layout, pressing Ctrl with the key to the left of 1 still didn't take a Snapshot to Disk. The keyboard layout I use will be sent through IM.

Thanks for testing and sending your layout (Brazilian ABNT2). That explains it: on ABNT2 the key left of 1 types an apostrophe, and the earlier fix only covered keys that type a dead key or an unusual character. Ctrl+therefore arrived as Ctrl+' and never matched. The key left of 1 now counts as for shortcuts whenever it types punctuation (the same as Windows treats it, which is why Firestorm works). This will be in the next release.
