AMD FidelityFX upscaling (vendor-neutral). Depends on TAA/motion vectors.
Part of epic #84 (temporal pipeline); follows #5.
Broken into child tickets:
Out of scope for now: frame generation, DLSS/XeSS. AMD FSR 3.1 (Vulkan backend) can plug in behind the same interface later if our upscaler falls short.
Status: #181 done, #183 (RCAS / RenderCASSharpness) and #184 (quality modes in Preferences + Quick Prefs) done, #182 usable with known softness on fine texture detail (kept open). Later alternative: #191 (AMD FSR 3.1).
Status check (verification sweep): unchanged since the last status comment. #181, #183 and #184 are done. #182 (temporal upscaling in the TAA resolve) is still open, with more work since (
33a645cd0d,15f33741d4,bd48eea58c,db3d806d24); #246 (FSR-only AA) is also open. #191 tracks AMD FSR 3.1 as an alternative. Leaving open until #182 is closed.Done: FSR upscaling shipped (FSR 3: quality modes in Preferences + Quick Prefs, RCAS sharpening). The custom TAA-U path (#182) was superseded by FSR 3. Remaining follow-up: #246 (FSR-only AA / retire the glow TAA pass).
