User report (not reproduced by the maintainer): in the inventory, right-click > New (the "create new" submenu of the inventory context menu) opens only briefly and then disappears, so the items in it can't be picked.

Ask the reporter:

Version (did it start with 1.3.0 Beta 5?), OS, UI scale, multiple monitors / mixed DPI.
Right-click on a folder, an item, or empty space? Any inventory tab (Recent / Worn / My Inventory)?
Hover vs click on "New"; every time or sometimes; mouse vs touchpad.

Suspects: Beta 5 changed how the inventory context menu is built and kept (#628/#629: LLFolderView::getOrCreatePopupMenu, isContextMenuEntryEnabled re-running the context-menu rules for the edit menu). If the menu is rebuilt or its entries re-evaluated while the submenu is open (e.g. by the edit-menu enable checks or a folder update from late inventory fetch), the open branch gets torn down. #686 hardening (Beta 6) made the edit-menu checks cheap and side-effect free, which may also change this; ask the reporter to retest on Beta 6.

Closing: not reproduced, and the follow-up questions went unanswered. The inventory context-menu build was also made null-safe and side-effect free since (see #686). If the New submenu still disappears on the current release, please reopen with the details above or send Help > Report Bug.
