Today the mesh uploader (LL's model preview floater) handles one model per upload, with LOD and physics meshes picked by hand per model. Builders with many models (a furniture set, a modular building kit) repeat the same steps dozens of times.

Goal

A bulk upload flow: pick many files (or a folder) at once, review them in one list, and upload them as a batch -- with LOD and physics meshes found automatically.

Auto-detection of companion meshes

  • Physics meshes, by name, both as separate files and as objects inside the same file:
    • suffixes/prefixes such as _phys, _physics, _PHYS, _col, _collision, and the common UCX_ / UBX_ / UCP_ prefixes;
    • matched to their visual mesh by base name (e.g. chair.dae + chair_phys.dae, or object Chair + Chair_phys in one file).
  • LOD meshes, by name: _LOD0.._LOD3, _high / _med / _low / _lowest (and the same as separate files).
  • Show what was matched per model (visual / LODs / physics) with a way to override any match; unmatched models fall back to the current defaults (generated LODs, chosen physics shape).
  • Support the formats the uploader accepts today (COLLADA .dae; glTF/GLB where supported).

Batch review

  • One list of all models with per-model settings (scale, physics shape type, LOD generation, include textures, rigging/weights) plus "apply to all / to selected".
  • Per-model and total estimated land impact and total upload cost (L$), fetched the same way the single uploader gets its fee quote, shown before anything is spent.
  • Validation per model before upload (missing physics, degenerate geometry, too many materials, over size limits) with clear errors.

Upload

  • Uploads run one after another (or a small, server-friendly number at a time) through the existing mesh upload capability; progress per model; the batch can be paused/cancelled between models.
  • Explicit confirmation of the total L$ cost before starting; each upload is charged separately by the grid, so a partial batch must report exactly which models were uploaded and charged.
  • Inventory safety: no blind retries of a request that may have been charged/created; a failed model is reported and can be retried deliberately; results land in one destination folder.

Out of scope / later

  • Auto-generating physics meshes (convex decomposition) when none is provided -- the existing physics options stay.
  • Bulk texture upload (separate).
