Brief, ray-noisy flashes of light on the ceiling of a sealed test room next to the club, seen with the room's own lights turned off.

Observed

  • The room is the sealed test room beside the club, where the club's projectors also leaked through the wall in stochastic mode (the shared visibility ratio; being fixed separately with per-light ratios under #869).
  • With the room's lights off, the wall leak goes away, but short flashes still appear on the ceiling.
  • They look ray-noisy (grainy, like a few stochastic samples) and are brief: individual flashes, not a steady glow.
  • They don't look like the club's gobos.

Settings at the time

Stochastic shadows on (RenderVKProjStochastic 1), ReSTIR DI on, GI on and off tested for the wall leak (not yet for the flashes).

To narrow down

  • GI on vs off (a GI bounce leak through a seam vs direct light).
  • RenderVKProjStochastic 0 vs 1, and whether it persists after the per-light ratio fix lands.
  • RenderVKGIDebug 9 (sparkle causes) and RenderVKDenoiseDebug 7 (light picks) on the ceiling during a flash.
  • Whether flashes line up with the club's lights changing (re-shades, moving fixtures) or with camera motion.
