Bring the quality-of-life improvements to the Appearance / outfits window from Firestorm and/or Alchemy into Slipstream. Start with the attachment counter, then audit both viewers for the rest.

Starting point: attachment count on the Wearing tab

  • The Wearing tab (panel_outfits_wearing.xml, Appearance window → Wearing) shows what you have on, but not how many attachments you're using.
  • LL already computes this, only in the outfit editor: LLCOFWearables::setAttachmentsTitle (llcofwearables.cpp ~350) titles the Attachments accordion "Attachments ([COUNT] remain)" from gAgentAvatarp->getMaxAttachments() (the region-sent limit, normally 38) minus what's worn.
  • Firestorm shows the count on the Wearing tab (along the lines of "Attachments: 31/38", plus the clothing layer count).
  • Do the same: "Attachments: used / max" (and wearables / clothing layers: used / max) on the Wearing tab, live-updating, and maybe a tooltip with remaining slots per attachment point.

Audit both viewers for other outfit-window QoL

Compare our Appearance window (My Outfits, Wearing, the outfit editor, the gallery; our outfit folders are already in) with Firestorm's and Alchemy upstream's current versions, and list what they have that we don't. Likely candidates (verify; don't assume):

  • Attachment / wearable counters (above).
  • Wearing tab:
    • sort and filter options;
    • show attachment points next to items;
    • detach/take-off from a context menu with multi-select;
    • "Show in inventory".
  • Outfits list:
    • outfit thumbnails / snapshot-to-outfit improvements;
    • sorting (name / date);
    • search that matches item names as well (our search fix #406 is already in);
    • "Wear items only / Add to current outfit / Replace" options;
    • "Wear as replace vs add" defaults.
  • Outfit editor:
    • quicker add-more buttons;
    • inventory filters that remember state;
    • links vs copies handling.
  • Firestorm's "Outfit snapshots" and "Contact sets"-style extras. Judge each; only bring what fits.
  • Alchemy upstream may have newer outfit-window changes since we forked; check its git history for lloutfitslist, llcofwearables, llpaneloutfitsinventory, llpaneloutfitedit, llwearingpanel / panel_outfits_wearing.

Deliverable

  1. The attachment / wearables counter (quick win).
  2. A list of candidate QoL features from FS / Alchemy, each with a keep/skip decision, then implementation (port where the code is portable, rewrite where it isn't). Check licences (FS is LGPL, like us).
  3. Wiki appearance/ page updated.

Step 1 shipped in 1.3.0 Beta 1 (commit e69a99d9b0): the Wearing tab's Wearables header reads "Wearables (Attachments: N / M)", with M from the region/grid attachment limit. Still to do: wearable/clothing layer counts, per-attachment-point tooltips, and the Firestorm/Alchemy QoL audit with keep/skip decisions.

Shipped in 1.3.0 Beta 3: Wearing tab and outfit lists brought toward Firestorm parity (counters, attachment points, tooltips, sorting, Take Off/Detach, complexity). The audit is in research/appearance_parity_429.md; 'Delete from outfit' still needs alt testing.
