Environment

Slipstream Release 1.2.0.9

Description

On Firestorm you can cut/copy/paste inventory items through keyboard shortcuts, on Slipstream currently it jumps to the next inventory item that starts with whatever letter you pressed (x/c/v in this case).

Working keyboard shortcuts would make inventory management much better.

Accepted (owner wants this too). Scope:

  • Ctrl+C / Ctrl+X / Ctrl+V in every inventory panel act on the selection, exactly like the right-click Copy / Cut / Paste: the main inventory, extra inventory windows, the Recent / Worn / Favorites tabs and outfit lists. Ctrl+V pastes into the selected folder, or into the folder holding the selected item. Ctrl+Shift+V pastes as link, if the context menu offers it.
  • Keys must not fall through to type-ahead search. Today the key press reaches the folder view's letter search (x/c/v jumps to the next item starting with that letter). Handle the shortcuts in LLFolderView / LLInventoryPanel::handleKeyHere (or the folder view's key handling) before type-ahead, and only when the inventory has focus. A focused text field (search box, rename) keeps normal text copy / paste.
  • Same code paths as the menu. Use the existing LLInventoryAction copy / cut / paste, and the clipboard (LLClipboard, which already holds inventory UUIDs and the cut flag). Enable rules stay the same: no cut on system folders, no paste into Trash, Library or Marketplace, and the permission checks are unchanged.
  • Inventory safety: no new kinds of writes. Paste goes through exactly the paths the context menu uses, and cut-then-paste is the existing move.
  • Optional: Ctrl+A to select all in the current folder, Delete to delete (with the existing confirmation), F2 to rename, if they don't already work.
