SLVoice (the Vivox voice client) needs a licence we don't have. Remove it and everything that exists only to run it. Voice keeps working through WebRTC voice (llvoicewebrtc), which is what SL's regions use now.

What ships today

  • Binaries:
    • Windows: SLVoice.exe, vivoxsdk_x64.dll (+ ortp_x64.dll)
    • Linux: bin/SLVoice, libvivoxsdk.so, libortp.so, libsndfile.so.1
    • macOS: SLVoice + libvivoxsdk.dylib
  • Packaging: viewer_manifest.py (Windows ~628, macOS ~978, Linux ~1430), indra/cmake/Copy3rdPartyLibs.cmake (vivox libs), the 3p package in autobuild.xml / indra/cmake/3p_manifest.json (hosted in sky_line/slipstream-3p).
  • Code: llvoicevivox.cpp/.h and the voice module selection in llvoiceclient.cpp, which chooses Vivox vs WebRTC per region/session.

Do

  1. Remove the Vivox module, its binaries, the packaging and 3p entries, and the settings that only configure SLVoice.
  2. Make the voice client use WebRTC everywhere. Regions or sessions that still advertise Vivox (older grids, OpenSim, P2P/ad-hoc calls if any still use it) must degrade gracefully: voice unavailable with a clear message, no crash, no hang waiting for SLVoice.
  3. Check the licence notices (licenses-*.txt) and the About box, and remove Vivox credits that no longer apply.
  4. Port to release/1.2 and ship in a stable 1.2.x.
  5. Separately, with the owner's approval: stop hosting the SLVoice package in our Forgejo 3p mirror (sky_line/slipstream-3p release assets).

Removed in 1.2.2 (stable) and 1.3.0 Beta 4: SLVoice / Vivox (a renamed Vivox voice client; no source from LL, Vivox is Unity-owned) and its libraries. Voice is WebRTC-only. Verified the published zips contain no SLVoice/Vivox/ortp files. The SLVoice release in slipstream-3p is deleted. Older releases are covered by #680.
