Delete branch "TheSlowly/Slipstream:gpu-camera-focus-distance"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Disabling camera constraints already extended Alt-click focus picking according to render distance. However, the newer GPU picker used a fixed 1,024-metre ray, preventing focus on visible objects farther away.
The fixed 1,024-metre GPU ray was introduced in
2627dbb329(“#702: GPU raster cursor pick”). It remained in the subsequent #704 picking rewrite, even though the camera-focus code still requested longer distances when constraints were disabled. This passes the requested distance through to the GPU picker and checks that cached results cover the requested range before reusing them. Normal hover requests retain their existing 1,024-metre range; longer requests are generated only when needed.
Built & tested on Windows
Already implemented: the GPU pick request covering the full pick ray is in
33ad9b2b02(on main and release/1.3), so this change is no longer needed. Closing.Pull request closed
