Delete branch "TheSlowly/Slipstream:nearby-chat-overlay"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Adds a compact way to follow nearby conversation without keeping the Conversations window open. Preferences > Chat > General now offers Plain text or Message cards for nearby avatar and object chat, plus a default option to hide the overlay while Nearby Chat is visible
Both styles work independently of chat bubbles and respect Do Not Disturb. Plain text uses the chat font, colors, and message styling, and resolves avatar links to readable names
New profiles default to plain text. Existing profiles are migrated once to message cards, preserving their notification actions and bubble settings. Subsequent launches retain the selected style. The old bubble-based overlay suppression is removed
IM and group-chat notifications are unchanged
Halting this PR for a moment, as I opted for a broader re-design of the alert handling
Superseded by #789, which includes the nearby chat overlay alongside the notification preferences redesign. Closing this PR in favour of the combined changes
