Bug

Snow that has built up on your avatar stays put when you move under cover (indoors, under a roof or overhang) while it is still snowing. It only seems to melt once the snowfall stops.

Expected

Once you are sheltered, snow on the avatar should stop building up and start melting, as it does when the snow stops. The melt rate should depend on shelter, not on the global snow intensity.

Repro

  1. Turn on weather with snow.
  2. Stand in the open until snow builds up on the avatar.
  3. Walk under a roof, with snow still falling.
  4. Wait: the snow stays.

Notes

  • It looks like melt is gated on the snowfall rate rather than on whether the avatar is sheltered. Check how the avatar snow update combines the shelter test with the precipitation rate.
  • Related: #901 (per-avatar shelter map) will change how shelter is decided; the fix should key off whatever shelter value that produces.
  • Probably the same for wetness and rain; check both.
