Delete branch "TheSlowly/Slipstream:chat-improvements"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Adds a compact nearby chat overlay and reorganizes notification settings under Preferences > Chat > Alerts
Nearby avatar and object chat can use plain text or message cards, independently of chat bubbles. Plain text follows the chat font, colors and styling, with readable avatar names
Each message type gets separate controls for conversation flashing, taskbar flashing and sound, plus a choice of popup/overlay, opening Conversations, or neither. Unread tracking remains independent
New profiles default to:
Existing notification preferences are migrated once; existing profiles initially retain message cards for the overlay. Visible conversations no longer flash or show popups, while mentions can override the flashing preference. Do Not Disturb suppresses notifications
The Conversations window title now includes the active tab’s name and follows typing-status updates. The active conversation also stays highlighted when the list selection is cleared, making it clear which chat is open
Deferring this to the 1.4 line: the 1.3 stable branch is taking bug fixes only, and this is a larger UI / preferences change that should get beta testing first. Leaving it open; it'll be reviewed when 1.4 work starts.
